One of the highlights of Earth Day San Francisco 2013, is the debut of its Eco-Fashion Green Chic Showcase and Fashion Show (12:30 to 1:30 pm on the Green Stage near Polk Street across from the City Hall). At Earth Day San Francisco, our Bay Area Eco-Fashion Green Chic Fashion industry Leaders will be featuring works of a number of local Earth-Friendly Designers displaying a verdant spread of looks, assisted by like minded Artists, Models, and Stylists along with many local supporters from our fashion community.
This year’s show will focus on three key 3concepts that illustrate the hottest trends in Eco-Fashion, and their relationship to the creative forces of
nature. The first demonstrates the synergy between wearable art and Earth energy through music, paintings, movement, yoga and dance. The second highlights the transformative nature of fashion, with trans-functional, multi-functional and unisex designs, and the androgyny of male-to-female and female-to-male fashion. This year's third concept demonstrates 'scrap glamour': how unwanted, discarded and repurposed/recycled garments and/or industrial and commercial materials can be transformed into chic ultra-fashionable outfits. These designs will change the public's perception of up-cycled fashion, and have a positive impact on consumption and recycling.
It's certain, that the Eco-Consciousness of our Community, and our “Fashion-Forward” San Franciscans, will be raised, and that everyone who attends will gain a greater appreciation for wearable Eco-Fashion, and how to incorporate it into their own personal Eco-Chic Style.
