CROWDFUNDING & SPONSORSHIPS
Who Am I?
My name is Jill Pillot and I am a local designer based in San Mateo, CA and the Owner/Creator of Ricochet Wearable Art. I originally started Ricochet as a consignment shop, but over the years it has blossomed into a business that makes one-of-a-kind clothing out of rescued materials. In addition to designing my own pieces, I offer sewing classes to the community and teach youth sewing and business skills through design, business and photography internships. The internship program and teaching experience has been such a rewarding experience for both the students and myself that I want to take my vision of opening more doors for youth and the community to the next level with Ricochet Wearable Art Academy.
What is Ricochet Wearable Art Academy?
Ricochet Wearable Art Academy is a local community organization devoted to offering students and young professionals unique learning opportunities. The Academy offers cost-free internship and learning courses in design/sewing, business and photography/videography.
Your support of the academy will allow me to reach more youth, including young professionals looking to develop new skill sets, students curious to explore possible interests, and at-risk high school students in need of an outlet and a mentor. My vision is to eventually shift to a larger location to accommodate even more students and have high-quality resources and supplies so that each student has an opportunity to get the most out of their experience. Ricochet Wearable Art Academy is committed to community education and to developing tomorrow's business leaders, fashion designers, photographers, and artists who will lead our generation with cutting edge and creative ideas in the ever-evolving world of fashion.
